Effect of the Application of Functional Elastic Bandages on Cicatricial Adherence

Abstract

Scars are the result of skin lesions where cells are replaced by scar tissue, made up of collagen fibers. In this process, several types of changes, especially fibrosis and adhesions, may be associated. Functional elastic bandages have been used as a physiotherapeutic tool in these cases, acting as a conduit of the interstitial fluid from higher pressure to  lower pressure  areas and influencing the deep lymphatic system and myofascial release.  The objective was analyzing the effects of the application of functional elastic bandages on cicatricial adhesions in postoperative patients. Experimental study. The Adheremeter device, designed to measure post-surgical scar adhesion, will be used in 10 participants to be used as a reference measure after the treatment; which will be carried out  through the application of functional elastic bandages in I with central support throughout the extension of the scar and later, the realization of the  deviations v. Statistical analysis was performed using the Bioestat software. The application of functional elastic bandages benefited postoperative patients with scars with adhesions, improving their mobility and pain. The application of functional elastic bandages benefited the cicatricial tissue of the participants involved in the study that were in the postoperative period.

As cicatrizes são o resultado de lesões na pele, onde as células são substituídas por tecido cicatricial, constituído por fibras de colágeno. Nesse processo, vários tipos de alterações, principalmente fibrose e aderências, podem estar associados. As bandagens elásticas funcionais têm sido utilizadas como ferramenta fisioterapêutica nesses casos, atuando como conduto do fluido intersticial de áreas de maior pressão para baixa pressão influenciando o sistema linfático profundo e a liberação miofascial. Analisar os efeitos da aplicação de bandagens elásticas funcionais nas adesões cicatriculares em pacientes no pós-operatório. Estudo experimental. O dispositivo Adheremeter, projetado para medir a adesão cicatricial pós-cirúrgica, foi usado em 10 participantes como medida de referência após o tratamento; o que será feito através da aplicação de bandagens elásticas funcionais em I com suporte central em toda a extensão da cicatriz e, posteriormente, na realização das técnicas de desvio. A análise estatística foi realizada no software Bioestat. A aplicação de bandagens elásticas funcionais beneficiou pacientes pós-operatórios com cicatrizes com aderências, melhorando sua mobilidade e dor. A aplicação de bandagens elásticas funcionais beneficiou o tecido cicatricial no pós-operatório dos participantes do estudo.
